Visitors are always welcome, especially Webelos
Patrols. Please be our honored guest! It's best to call ahead just in case the Troop is on an evening
field trip or the day is a holiday. Troop 135 meets in the Fellowship Hall of the First Presbyterian Church, our
charter organization since the 1940s. The entrance is on the courtyard (south side) of the building opposite Legends

The adult leadership strives to guide the boys in accomplishing
a "boy lead" outdoor program. A typical Troop meeting will offer an opening ceremony, Patrol meetings, a period of
skills accomplishment (either Merit Badge classes or other skills training) and a period of team activities
(games etc.). Uniforms (Class A shirt tucked into green pants) are mandatory for most Troop meetings.
Our scouts come from a variety of educational paths; City, County, private
and home school. Our younger, motivated scouts typically advance through the camping ranks (Tenderfoot through 1st
Class) within a year and a half depending on level of participation.
Troop 135 scouts plan an outdoor experience every month of the year,
some of which take us across the State of Tennessee and beyond. A few of our
monthly outings are geared toward family interaction. The basics of the Boy Scout Program focuses on the outdoors; therefore, most
of the monthly outings are geared toward learning outdoor skills and leading others. Camping, hiking, backpacking, climbing, canoeing, bicycling, snow skiing, spelunking and white water rafting are just to a few of a variety of experiences.
Summer is an exciting time for the scouts. Scouts have an
opportunity for outdoor adventure in all three Summer months. In June, the adventure is always Boxwell Summer Camp. The Troop also plans a "high adventure" trip every
Summer. These outings are planned for scouts age 14 and older. Boy Scout High Adventure bases across
the Country are Philmont Reservation (Arizona), Sea Base (Florida Keys), Canadian Northern Tier (Atikokan, Ontario) plus other destinations.
